fabledazzle skateboard collection
This project was created during my freshman year for my 2D II course as part of a skateboard design assignment. The goal of the project was to design a series of graphics that could exist on skateboard decks, treating the board itself as a canvas for visual storytelling and illustration. Skateboard graphics often function as a form of artistic expression, using the shape of the deck as a medium to communicate personality, identity, or narrative.
For this project, I developed the Fabledazzle collection, a concept that blends elements of fantasy and bold visual design. I wanted the boards to feel energetic and imaginative, drawing on the idea of “fabled” storytelling combined with eye-catching graphic elements that would stand out when the boards are viewed individually or as a set.
In designing the collection, I focused on creating a cohesive visual identity across multiple decks while still allowing each board to feel distinct. Through color, illustration, and composition, I explored how graphics interact with the unique vertical format of a skateboard deck. This project allowed me to experiment with designing for a non-traditional surface and think about how illustration and graphic design translate onto physical objects.
