zine Set
This project was created during my Design and Typography II course, where the assignment was to design a cohesive collection of three zines centered around a topic of our choice. I chose to focus on the films written and directed by Greta Gerwig, whose work I’ve consistently been drawn to for its storytelling, visual style, and exploration of girlhood and identity.
The set highlights Gerwig’s films—including Lady Bird, Little Women, and Barbie—each of which reflects her distinct voice as a filmmaker and her focus on female-driven narratives and coming-of-age experiences. I approached each zine as its own piece while maintaining a cohesive system across the collection, allowing each film’s tone and identity to influence its design while still feeling unified as a set.
Using typography, layout, and visual pacing, I explored how editorial design can translate cinematic storytelling into a printed format. Each zine reflects the emotional and visual language of its corresponding film, while the overall collection emphasizes consistency through structure, hierarchy, and design elements.
The zines were designed in Adobe InDesign, with photo editing and image treatments completed in Adobe Photoshop. This project allowed me to further develop my skills in editorial and typographic design while working across multiple Adobe programs to create a cohesive and polished final outcome.
