Amplify Music
App
This project was created during my UI/UX II course, where the assignment was to design an app centered around a concept of our choice. I developed AMPLIFY, a music discovery app focused on highlighting new and emerging artists—revisiting what I saw as Spotify’s original intention of helping users discover music beyond mainstream algorithms.
My goal was to design a platform that prioritizes discovery, giving smaller artists visibility while creating a more intentional and engaging listening experience for users. I considered how current streaming platforms often favor popular content, and wanted to explore an alternative system that encourages exploration and connection with lesser-known music.
In designing the app, I focused on user flow, navigation, and interface design to ensure a seamless and intuitive experience. I developed features that support discovery, such as curated playlists, artist spotlights, and personalized recommendations that feel more exploratory than algorithm-driven. The visual design emphasizes clarity and hierarchy while maintaining a modern, music-focused aesthetic.
Using UI/UX principles, I approached this project as both a conceptual and functional system, considering how users interact with the app and how the design supports their goals. This project allowed me to explore product thinking, user-centered design, and how digital platforms can shape the way we experience music.
