Live From New

This project was created during my Design and Typography II course, where the assignment was to redesign an existing festival. Instead of reworking a current event, I chose to take a more conceptual and experimental approach by creating an original festival centered around comedy—specifically inspired by Saturday Night Live and the landscape of contemporary comedy.

I developed Live From New York as a hypothetical festival that celebrates both the legacy of SNL and the evolving voice of modern comedians. My goal was to create a brand identity that felt energetic, recognizable, and rooted in the cultural impact of live comedy, while also functioning as a cohesive system across multiple touchpoints.

In designing the festival, I focused on building a strong visual identity through typography, layout, and branding elements that reflect the immediacy and boldness of live performance. I considered how the brand would extend across applications such as posters, schedules, digital platforms, and promotional materials, ensuring consistency while maintaining a dynamic and engaging presence.

This project allowed me to take creative risks by moving beyond the expected brief and developing an original concept. It strengthened my ability to think conceptually, build a brand from the ground up, and design for both cultural relevance and real-world application.
